Considered one of the greenest countries in Europe, Slovenia is a natural jewel located between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea, and it can boast a variety of landscapes ranging from high mountains to seaside towns. Its capital, Ljubljana, provides a great example of sustainability and environmental responsibility, so in 2016 it was named as the Green Capital of Europe. Attractions in Slovenia include Son Bled, a splendid valley whose main attraction is a church that is in the middle of the lake; Postjna cave, considered one of the most touristic places in the country; Lake Bohinj, the largest of all the lakes in Slovenia; and Velika Planina, an immense mountainous area known for its ski slopes.
