Back in Rhodes Town is the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, one of the most captivating things to see in Rhodes. One of the very few examples of Gothic architecture in Greece, this medieval castle is thought to have been built on the site of the fabled Colossus of Rhodes. When the Knights Hospitaller occupied Rhodes in the 14th-century they converted this former Byzantine citadel into a palace for their Grand Master. This surprising castle-like structure is not something you'd expect to find on a Greek island, so be sure to explore its well-preserved interior, home to an array of amazing artefacts for this interesting period in Rhodes’ history.

If you’re looking for a little indulgence during your trip to Rhodes visit the Kallithea Thermal Springs. Dating back to the Italian rule of the 1920s, these exquisite thermal pools are said to have therapeutic properties.
