Breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will greet you at the hotel in the morning. Today, embark on a full day excursion to the Snæfellsnes peninsula where you will get to explore the natural wonders of this location that divides the west coast of Iceland into two large bays. Start by visiting the northern part of Mýrar, home to an array of volcanic craters, including Eldborg, the largest one.
Next, head west towards the tip of the peninsula, passing the small fishing towns of Grundarfjörður, Ólafsvík, Rif and Hellissandur. You will also be passing by the Snæfellsjökull National Park, full of interesting geological phenomena and historic sites. Tips: we advise to bring good shoes since in winter many sites may be covered in snow as well as their paths. The ground in Iceland can be slippery, wet, or icy. You may want to consider bringing or purchasing a pair of removable spikes (also known as crampons) to place on your shoes to aid with stability and grip. Also, you can bring your swimsuit, even if you don´t plan to swim. You might change your mind once you see the warm steaming lagoon!
