What to see in Ethiopia

Bahir Dar

Located on the shores of Lake Tana, this Ethiopian city is considered one of the most beautiful in the north of the country. Its wide avenues, decorated with long rows of palm trees, its bustling markets, the monasteries on the lake, the warmth of the people and the excursions to the source of the Nile make it one of the essential stops on a trip to Ethiopia. Lake Tana has about thirty islands and islets, its main feature is that in some of them there are a set of monasteries where the bodies of ancient Ethiopian emperors are buried. Another of the great attractions of Bahir Dar is that in its surroundings there are the impressive waterfalls of the Blue Nile, the most important in Africa.
